Apache (rating : )

Apache bar (in the good tradition of 'cowboy' related names for the bars) has been around as long as I can remember. It is one of the smaller bars on the left when entering Soi Cowboy from Asoke road. It was one of these rather quiet places where a few girls would be dancing on a small stage, and people could spend some time having a good chat with friends.
The bar has a new owner (same as Suzie Wong and Sheba's). The interior has been renovated and the bar has been moved upmarket.
The big innovation (we think it will be replicated in due time in other bars) is 'table dancing'. There is a standard longitudinal dancing stage on the right with some bar stools. On the left are 4 semicircular sofas placed along the wall. Each sofa is surrounding a round table on which one girl will be dancing. Girls in the bar are wearing 'Apache skirts'. Apache girls do not wear tops of course. Furthermore, we do not know if this is historically correct, but the Apache girls in this bar do not wear underwear either. Furthermore, we have to point out that the table tops are covered by a mirror, to improve visual reconnaissance.
The floor of the larger dancing floor is also covered by a mirror (the girls dance barefoot, which we think is cute). As an expert in this matter, we would like to point out to bar owners and managers that one of the best places to put mirror reflections is ON THE COUNTER surrounding the dancing stage (provided it is at about the same height as the dancing floor itself). Putting a mirror on the dancing floor often results in customers having to take unnatural positions to have the best views. For a preview of mirrors on the counter, one should go to Buttoms Up at Nana Plaza. We are quite puzzled that this innovations at Buttoms Up has not yet been replicated at other bars.
Apache is still a small bar of course, but it has found an interesting way of displaying its girls. Prices of drinks are high for a small bar at 120 baht for a beer.
