Kiss (rating : )

Kiss (Bar) is at the location of the former Black & White Bar, which was a long-term favorite with some residents. If we recall well, the bar was reopened under the Kiss name somewhere in the middle of 2008. While before, the atmosphere was a bit laid-back, the new management has gone in an altogether other direction, creating yet another flashy spick-and-span bar with a lot of neon outside and inside the bar.

The same owner operates other (similarly outfitted) bars along Soi Cowboy, such as Midnite, Our Place, Deja Vu, and Spice Girls.

Somehow the bar looks more spacious now than before.
There is a bar counter on one side of the remodeled dancing stage. Strangely enought there is quite some space between the bar counter and the actual dancing stage (which is rather small). No real close-up views of the girls are possible here. Not clear what is is all about, unless it was just done to do something different. Because the dancing stage is broken into separate pieces, it is also hardly possible to ever do any significant shows here.

You can be forgiven for not noticing straight away, but there are two different groups of girls dancing here. The ones going topless (on stage and strutting around the bar) are the regular a-go-go girls. Those wearing a slightly less modest outfit are so-called coyotees. The latter girls are supposed to be better dancers, or at least do more effort doing it. On average, they tend to be a bit prettier, but there are exceptions.
The type of girl you end up patronizing can determine you bill. Lady drinks for regular girls are 150 baht (already over the top), lady drinks for the coyotee girls are a whopping 200 baht. Watch you wallet here!

The girls seem to dance in two shifts, one for the regulars, one for the coyotees.

Beer at Kiss Bar are priced at 145 baht, soft drinks go for 120 baht.
There is draught Chang beer at 90 baht, however you get just a little bit of beer (not more than 150 cc, we reckon) to sip, while checking out the bar and girls. One of those things, really.
This bar hardly will be one of our favorite bars, just a bar to go to once in a while.
