Latest : Midnite bar under new ownership has been refurbished, and looks quite better now, especially on the outside. The bar maintains its 'dark' look and somewhat seedy aspect. The girls are the same as before, and sometimes are in birthday suit. One negative point : overly loud music! [we stopped visited the bar lately, because of excessively loud music]

One can judge music level be standing or walking in the middle of Soi Cowboy. If you hear the music of one bar there clearly, that's the place where you do not want to go.

Midnite bar has a long history. Being a quite successful bar many years ago, it slumped into a years long period of poor business and lack of customers. For the old hands, the cashier counter, that was in front of the dancing stage, has been moved all the way back, and barstools surround the whole stage area.

What you will see at Midnite is a spectacle to behold. Hands down this bar has the plainly most ugly girls in Soi Cowboy (and this includes the girls at Our Place). For a while the girls were covered up, but for more than a year now they dance again mostly in the nude.

The girls lack in beauty, but they try to make up for it with raunchiness. This bar really smells of debauchery. This is also helped by the fact that the majority of the dancers seem to be drunk most of the time. So most days, the atmosphere tends to be rather good, and punters can have a good time if they are in the right mood.

A positive is that the music played is of the rock variety mostly rather contemporary. No Britney Spears like music here. You have to watch out for your ears though, some days the music is rather loud.

The charge for a beer is at 130 baht. There is a happy hour, when you can have most drinks at 60 baht, if you arrive before 8.30 P.M. (recommended!) We find the set-up of high drink prices on the one hand, and very cheap prices during happy hours rather puzzling. Why not just charge moderate prices all of the time?
