Rawhide is the first bar on the right if you enter Soi Cowboy from Asoke road. It is the sister bar of Long Gun. For a long while, the bar was not as successful (mostly to do we think with the outlay of the bar), but lately there are many more customers.
The bar has a lot of shows on offer nowadays. The girls doing the (what is actually called that way) 'sexy show', are usually quite attractive.
Shows are scheduled throughout the evening. In between, there is 'just' regular dancing on stage. The girls don different outfits with each dancing round. Usually they start with a particular outfit, then slowly strip during subsequent songs, and end up dancing in the nude b the end of the cycle.

As is often the case, the girls doing the shows, also are the most attractive ones. There are some other (newer) attractive young girls doing the regular dancing also. Unfortunately, Rawhide employs also a number of middle-aged women past their prime. Therefore, it is quite possible you enter, while such women are dancing on stage, which is not very appealing altogether. The best thing to do is to just check things out before taking a seat, and take off when you do not like what you see (and do not have the patience to wait for improvement).

While it looked just a bit dilapidated in the past, Rawhide has been renovated a bit, after a fire in the beginning of 2009. The seating is better, the toilets do not look so third-world anymore. Interestingly, the ceiling of the bar has been painted in fluorescent colors, depicting mostly marine live. It is not exactly the Sistine Chapel though.
The outside of the bar has been updated a bit, but there are no impressing neon lights as many other bars around Soi Cowboy have. Rawhide and Long Gun together form a multimillion dollar enterprise (over the years) but the management can not be said to use the money to upgrade their bars too much. Well, they are still doing great, although the bars are just a bit too small to be able to compete with larger bars like Tilac Bar and Baccara nowadays.

As most other bars, music can be very loud at Rawhide. Beers are priced at 130 baht, water can be had for just 70 baht.
