Spice Girls operated for about two years as a small (one shophouse wide) bar in the middle of Soi Cowboy. At the end of 2007, the format changed. Another bar (named Cowboy One bar) was annexed, and one larger bar was established. Spice Girls bar is operated by the same owner that operates Midnite Bar, Ourplace Bar, and DejaVu Bar.
While enlarging the bar, the whole venue was refurbished, both inside and outside.
There is a moderately sized longitudinal dancing stage. The number of girls at present is limited. They dance topless with a variant of the common 'Soi Cowboy skirt', with as far as we could judge nothing underneath. On one side of the dancing stage, there are barstools, but there actually is no place for your drink (you have to deposit it apparently on the dance floor?).
Along the walls there are plastic covered sofas, and some booth like seating arrangements. A few tables allow for table dancing, but we visited a few times lately, there were not enough girls to occupy the tables (and not enough customers indeed to possibly enjoy it).
There is a second floor. Part of the ceiling is transparent, with a second smaller dancing stage on top. The format seems to be : one nude girl dancing there. There is also a pool table upstairs, and the rather disappointing wash room facilities are also located on the second floor.
Spice Girls Bar offers highly overpriced drinks. A standard beer will set you back 140 baht. Lady drinks are priced at 150 baht, and more when the girls order something containing alcohol. On the other hand, you can order Chang draught beer at just 70 baht all night. There is also a 'happy hour', ending (we think) around 9 P.M., when drinks are cheaper than mentioned above. Strange price policies, but not uncommon along Soi Cowboy.
